NEWS – New Education with Success

The “NEWS” project aims to introduce adult educators to innovative ways to better reach and engage adult learners in areas such as media education, critical thinking and foreign languages. At the same time, the project aims to attract new teachers for adult education by providing them with appropriate methodological skills and abilities, thus opening up new fields of action.

Project partners: The consortium consists of 7 organisations (one university, 2 adult education centres and 4 adult education institutions) from 6 different countries, all of which have specific roles in the project according to their expertise and areas of interest.
The project aims to enable adult educators to carry out their work in a better and more targeted way using tools developed within the project.

In order to achieve these objectives, the following documents and handouts will be produced during the project period:

“Survey on needs in adult education”: Each partner country will conduct a survey on the current and future needs of adult educators.
“Methodology: General Methodology – Critical Thinking”: An efficient methodology will be developed and a curriculum will be established with the application of critical thinking in general pedagogy as a basis for further specifications for media education, IT and foreign language teaching.
“Manual for training new adult educators”: This manual focuses on the training of new adult educators. It is aimed at adult education professionals who wish to introduce young people to all aspects of teaching in adult education. The professional background of junior adult educators and new methodological skills gained through this training enables them to adequately pass on their knowledge to adult learners in the future.

Target group: The project is aimed at active adult educators who would like to extend their competences in order to better support and motivate learners in the courses, as well as at new adult educators who would like to work actively in this field.

This project will provide experienced and future teachers in adult education with a holistic methodology to support their professional development in languages, IT and media. Each partner has very good access to the direct and indirect target groups, making it easy to develop, disseminate and test the project outputs. This gives the project its innovative yet practical character.
